One Direction 2048 is the classic merge puzzle built from the band’s five-year run. Every tile is a song, album or milestone, and two matching tiles merge into the next step. Start on The X Factor and keep combining until you reach Made in the A.M. It is free to play in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer, with no download.

One Direction was put together as a group on the UK version of The X Factor in 2010, where they finished third. Their debut single, What Makes You Beautiful, came out the next year. They became the first band in Billboard 200 history to have their first four albums debut at number one, before going on hiatus in 2016.

The 11 One Direction tiles

The ladder runs in release order. It starts with The X Factor in 2010, then the debut single What Makes You Beautiful (shortened to WMYB) and the first album, Up All Night. Take Me Home followed in 2012. 2013 was a busy year, with Best Song Ever, the concert film This Is Us, Story of My Life and the album Midnight Memories. Four arrived in 2014, and Drag Me Down was the first single after Zayn Malik left in 2015. The 2048 tile is Made in the A.M., their fifth album and the last before the hiatus.

Tips to win One Direction 2048

  1. Keep your best tile in a corner and leave it there. Drag Me Down should sit right next to it, so a second one can merge into Made in the A.M. in place.
  2. Build a falling row such as Four, Midnight Memories, Story of My Life, This Is Us. When a small tile merges at the end, the whole row moves up.
  3. Plan around where new tiles appear. Pick moves that leave empty squares on the open side, not next to your chain of big albums.

One Direction 2048 FAQ
