Play Pizza 2048 online

Pizza 2048 is the classic merge puzzle, baked fresh. Every tile is an ingredient or a pizza, and joining two matching tiles makes the next, tastier one. Start with plain dough, work through sauce, cheese and classic pies, and keep going until you reach a Chicago deep dish. Play free in your browser on a phone or computer, with no download.

Modern pizza comes from Naples, Italy. The marinara, topped with tomato, garlic and oregano but no cheese, is one of the oldest styles. Popular legend says the Margherita was named for Queen Margherita of Savoy in 1889, with its red, white and green toppings echoing the Italian flag. Later, pizza travelled the world and picked up new twists.

The 11 pizza tiles

The first four tiles are the building blocks of a Neapolitan pizza: dough, tomato sauce, mozzarella and fresh basil. Combine them and you get the two Naples classics, marinara and Margherita. Next come familiar toppings, pepperoni and mushroom. The Hawaiian, with ham and pineapple, was created in 1962 in Chatham, Ontario, by Greek-Canadian cook Sam Panopoulos. The calzone is a folded pizza from Naples. Chicago deep dish, linked to Pizzeria Uno in 1943, is the biggest and heaviest pie on the ladder, so it takes the 2048 tile.

Tips to win Pizza 2048

  1. Keep your best pizza in one corner like the hottest spot in the oven. Once Margherita is there, swipe toward it so new tiles line up next to it.
  2. Build a row in order, such as Mushroom next to Pepperoni next to Margherita. When the smaller tile merges, the next merge is ready to go.
  3. Clear small tiles like Dough and Tomato Sauce early. If they pile up at the far side of the board, they leave no room for bigger merges.
