Play Cats 2048 online

Cats 2048 is the classic sliding puzzle full of whiskers. Swipe or use the arrow keys to move every tile, and merge two matching cats to make a bigger one. Start with a kitten and keep merging until you reach the Tiger. It is free to play in your browser on a phone or computer, with no download.

House cats and big cats belong to the same family, Felidae, and they share a lot, from padded paws to sharp retractable claws. The ladder starts with familiar coat colours and breeds, moves up to the large Maine Coon, one of the biggest domestic breeds, and then leaves the sofa behind for the wild cats.

The 11 Cats tiles

The tiles grow from small to large. A kitten turns into a striped tabby, then a black cat and a ginger, which are coat colours you see in homes everywhere. Siamese cats are known for blue eyes and loud voices, Persians for long fluffy coats and Sphynx cats for having almost no fur at all. The Maine Coon is one of the largest pet breeds. After that come the wild cats, the leopard and the lion. The tiger takes the 2048 tile because it is the largest cat species in the world.

How to play Cats 2048

Step 1 · Move

Slide every tile at once

Use your arrow keys ( ← ↑ ↓ → ) or W A S D to move the tiles.

All tiles slide as far as they can in that direction, and a new Kitten tile appears after every move.

Step 2 · Swipe

Play on your phone

On a phone or tablet, swipe anywhere on the board to move the tiles.

Your game is saved in your browser, so you can pick it up later on the same device.

Step 3 · Merge

Match two to unlock the next

Two Kitten tiles make Tabby, and every merge adds the new tile’s value to your score.

Step 4 · Goal

Reach the final tile

The goal is to build the 2048 tile: Tiger.

You can keep playing after you reach it and chase an even higher score.

Tips to win Cats 2048

  1. Give your biggest cat one favourite corner and let it nap there. Build the next Lion right beside it, and the Tiger is only one swipe away.
  2. Line the cats up by size along one edge: Leopard, Maine Coon, Sphynx, Persian. Each new merge then pads along the row towards the corner.
  3. Do not chase merges in every direction. Use three directions most of the time, and save the fourth for when the board is stuck, so a stray Kitten does not take the corner.

Cats 2048 FAQ

What is the final tile in Cats 2048?

The final tile is the Tiger. The tiger is the largest of all cat species, bigger than the lion, so it is the natural end of a ladder that grows from a tiny kitten to the biggest cat on Earth.

What cat breeds are in Cats 2048?

The breed tiles are Siamese, Persian, Sphynx and Maine Coon. Tabby, black and ginger are coat patterns and colours rather than breeds, and the top three tiles are wild cats: the leopard, lion and tiger.

Can I play Cats 2048 on my phone?

Yes. Cats 2048 works in any phone or tablet browser. Swipe in the direction you want the tiles to move. On a computer you can use the arrow keys.

Why is the Maine Coon so high on the ladder?

The Maine Coon is one of the largest domestic cat breeds, with a long body, a bushy tail and tufted ears. It is the biggest pet cat on the ladder, so it is the last house cat before the wild cats begin.
