Sanrio is the Japanese company behind Hello Kitty, who first appeared in 1974. Since then it has created hundreds of characters, from the lazy egg Gudetama to the cloud-like puppy Cinnamoroll. Fans vote for their favourites every year in the Sanrio Character Ranking, which Cinnamoroll and Pompompurin have both won many times.

The 11 Sanrio tiles

The ladder starts with Sanrio’s quirkier characters and climbs to its most famous face. Gudetama is a lazy egg yolk, and Aggretsuko is the red panda office worker who sings death metal at karaoke. Badtz-Maru the penguin, Keroppi the frog, Pochacco the puppy and Pompompurin the golden retriever come next. Little Twin Stars Kiki and Lala share the 128 tile, with the rivals Kuromi and My Melody right behind. Cinnamoroll, the puppy with long ears who can fly, is the 1024 tile, and Hello Kitty takes the 2048 tile as the character who started it all in 1974.

Tips to win Sanrio 2048

  1. Keep your biggest friend in one corner. If Cinnamoroll lives there, build another one right next to it and Hello Kitty is just one merge away.
  2. Make a tidy row that gets smaller away from the corner: My Melody, Kuromi, Little Twin Stars, Pompompurin. Then merges flow towards the corner in order.
  3. Merge the small Gudetama and Aggretsuko tiles quickly. Leaving them spread around the board fills up empty squares and makes it hard to move without breaking your row.

Sanrio 2048 FAQ

Yes. The game runs in the browser on tablets, phones and computers. Swipe to move the tiles on a touch screen, or use the arrow keys on a keyboard. No app is needed.
