Play Harry Potter 2048 online

Harry Potter 2048 is the classic merge puzzle with a wizarding twist. Merge two matching tiles to move from your first Hogwarts letter, through Diagon Alley and the Sorting Hat, into all seven books of the series. Plan your moves, keep the board tidy and aim for the Deathly Hallows. Play free in your browser on a phone or computer, no download required.

J.K. Rowling’s first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, came out in the UK in 1997, and in the US it was renamed the Sorcerer’s Stone. The series ended ten years later with Deathly Hallows in 2007. All seven books were adapted into eight films, with the last book split into two parts.

The 11 Harry Potter tiles

The first four tiles follow Harry’s journey to school: the Hogwarts letter, his wand from Ollivanders, the train from Platform 9¾ at King’s Cross, and the Sorting Hat, which places students in Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin. The next seven are the books in order: Philosopher’s Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows. Each book title is shortened to fit the tile, and the final book, which closes Harry’s story, takes the 2048 tile.

Tips to win Harry Potter 2048

  1. Keep your strongest book in one corner, like the safest seat in the Gryffindor common room. Swipe toward that corner most of the time and the big tiles stay put.
  2. Line up the books in order along one edge: Goblet of Fire next to Azkaban next to Chamber. One merge at the small end can then cascade along the row.
  3. Do not let small tiles like Hogwarts Letter and Wand pile up. Merge them early so you always have space for the next new tile.

Harry Potter 2048 FAQ

Is Harry Potter 2048 official?

No. It is a free fan-made puzzle that uses book titles and item names as tile labels. It is not affiliated with J.K. Rowling, Warner Bros. or the publishers and uses no official artwork.

What order do the tiles go in?

Hogwarts Letter, Wand, Platform 9¾, Sorting Hat, then the seven books in publication order from Philosopher’s Stone to Deathly Hallows.
